Values is the first of a series of six apps designed to improve your quality of life through exercises based on the principles of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (Hayes, Steven Kirk Strosahl, & Kelly Wilson (2003). This is a basic introduction to , a therapy grounded in science and shown to help many people make positive and enduring changes in their life. Whether you are looking to improve your worklife balance, your relationship with stress, or struggles with your mood, these apps will help you take a practical and straightforward approach to wellness. This first app, Values, is designed to help you take a step back from your daily routines and evaluate what you want your life to stand for. Through written and audio exercises, this app allows you to take your first step on the journey towards a life filled with meaning and purpose. Wherever we may find ourselves in our lives, it benefits us to take an honest appraisal of where we are headed. These apps are not a substitute for psychotherapy or medical advice and we encourage you to seek these out if they are needed. These apps may, however, serve as a helpful addition to therapy.
